Spring weather has blessed us here in NC this week. I woke up and saw the sun shining so bright, I had to get outside and finally style the early spring front porch. This year the porch received a revamp that it was in much need of! When I moved in the porch had two places already for two porch swings but, I only had one until this year. The weather really gave me the push I needed to work my creativeness and make this porch spring ready but, cozy at the same time!
I moved the original porch swing to the end of the porch in order to create the cozy space that I wanted since the day I moved in. The best part about this whole corner is that it is styled with pieces I have had around here. I have learned this week to reuse things I have instead of always buying new or buying old. I started by moving the porch swing here and pulling a jute rug for the texture. The jute rug was in my guest bedroom for the longest time, so why not use it out here. Now for the coffee table, I used a bench that I use to have in my entryway because, it is the perfect height! This will give that early spring front porch feel!
I knew that I was going to need layers behind the porch swing to fill that huge empty space. I always want my vintage egg sign to be hung like a sign; so why not out here, where it can be seen on both sides. For more layers, I took vintage crates and stacked them and added a fig tree to give height with layers. The other corner I have my grandmothers old plant stand; that I added a few plants, garden tools; and pots too. This piece really brought back the memories for me!
For the coffee table, I add in layers of spring with a fresh plant, a watering can (that is used), vintage seed packs, and a basket planter for a woven texture. I want to keep that simple that way the coffee table can be used when we have guests on the front porch. Finally I layered up the porch swing with textured pillows for the cozy vibe.
This spot has created a cozy spot to enjoy this spring weather! I love creating spaces that are beautiful but, still usable! I hope this inspires you to style for spring. Thank you for stopping by the blog today and everyday, XOXO
