When it is cold outside all I want is to be cozy. This is why I make sure to have a cozy winter entryway in my home. Many times I get questions about how I make spaces feel cozy and warm and my tricks are simple, I always think what makes me feel cozy? Cozy to me means chunky blankets, pillows, greenery, and warm tones. When guests or ourselves walk into the front door I want them to feel warm and cozy.
I started out by hanging some chunky knit throws from my vintage coat rack. I do love that this coat rack is wood tone because it add another layer of dimension. Once I had the blankets up I knew that it was missing something which mean’t I needed to balance it out because there had to be something on the bench. I picked up this adorable new basket from Hearth and Hand’s new collection at target and layered it with some greenery from Piper Classics and some orange slice garland to bring in warm tones.
Although the basket with the greenery added another layer the other side needed something to balance it out. When layering any area, you want to make sure that you have balance within the layering and texture. In order to add balance to the other side I added in a chunky pillow with a pair of Hunter rain boots to bring that winter feel into the entryway. Having the balance in a space will help that cozy feeling pop out.
Sharing this simple cozy entryway for the winter season with you makes me feel that any of you can create a cozy winter entryway of your own. If you decide to create one of your own, tagged me on Instagram, I would love to see! Thank you for coming to the blog today and everyday, XOXO
Love your chunky throws, especially since I can get them at Target. Thanks for the tips. I’ll be looking forward to your new posts this year. Wanted to go to your event in April, but I’ve got to chaperone a trip for my teenager that week.
Thank you so much for taking the time to come by the blog! I hope that I can share more tips this year to help you. We would love for you to come in April but I understand :). I am sure there will be more events for you to come to in the future!
