Did someone say cozy refresh? Can you believe we are mid-summer already? The summer months are just flying by and I wanted to stop and refresh the house. This past week, I spent refreshing the house to a more simple cozy vibe with a pop of summer. I am going to share some areas, that I have not shared with Instagram just yet! Let’s take the tour!
Our laundry room is one of my favorite remodels in our home. I wanted to bring that summer vibe in there by adding in a vintage water can and that pop of fresh fruit to brighten a cloudy laundry day! After the color pop in the laundry room, I decided to add more muted tones ti the kitchen to add that simpleness. This little breakfast nook is always layered to the max but this time kept it simple and clean. I am loving this little vintage locker hook I picked up from Vintage Market Days of Knoxville; because it is the perfect hook to layer with.
Carrying the muted tones throughout the kitchen and the dining room, this little area, I layered up and added those summer pops. The vintage beehive and the faux oranges gave this area the summer pop it needed. When I create simple, for me that means neutral tones and cozy layering.
Now let’s head to the full dining room view! Miss Alice was excited that she had a basket full of fresh clean linens but; little did she know those were for layering now her to play in. She loves her blankets and pillows, now back to the tour. I did a blog post on these DIY faux topiary a few days ago, if you want to head over and check that one out too. This summer topiary tablescape is simple but just enough to add that cozy texture vibe to the dining room. What do you think about tall plants as your tablescape?
Finally one of my favorite rooms, the guest bedroom! I have to say that this vintage dresser is one of my favorite pieces in our home. These vintage pickle jugs, always get me the question where did you find them. Well, I have to say I picked up one in Nashville, TN and the other one took me awhile to find because in my small town they did not come in the antique stores often. I am so glad that I picked them up because they are some of my favorite pieces to layer with. Anything large and chippy , has layering written all over it to me. I did use those chippy old windows to layer this dresser in a simple way!
Last but not least the office refresh was a little more of vintage school house instead of just summer but I did add those fresh houseplants to bring in the summer cozy vibe. I found this chalkboard scroll at Hobby Lobby, and then I had a few vintage flash cards so, I decided that I could tie them all together How do you think those did together?
You are probably wondering where the master is? Well, our master is getting a surprising change that it will need it’s own blog post for! So stay tuned; because I am so excited to share with you all what is happening in there as we speak! Thank you for stopping by the blog today and everyday, I hope your feeling peachy with summer vibes, XOXO Jessica
