Cozy with the old days in mind is what we envisioned for a cozy farmhouse cottage bedroom. Although I never did imagine using a color other than White Dove, here we are and I must say that it was the best choice for that vintage feel to this space. All the textures and colors pieced together so perfectly. Let’s dive into all the details friends.

If you have been here for a while you know that we had one of our favorite wallpapers on the wall behind our bed and then one side that already had the bead board and board and batten. Along with the TV wall having shiplap on it. Basically, the master was where I would try different styles to a wall and it was more of a mod podge than a cozy finished room. We were craving a space we could be cozy and relax. Since I had been looking at Emil In Garden Green by Sandberg from Wallpaper Direct for quite some time, I knew that this piece was going to be what I designed the reno around.

Now before the process, remember the room before? This room was not something I was not happy with but, I knew that it was not finished and I wanted to complete it.

We started by ripping out the carpet, shiplap, and removing all the wallpaper. This was to bring the board and batten around the room from the side that was previously done with all of the vintage-inspired hooks. Adding the board and batten around the room will give what was missing here, a finished look.

Once we had the board and batten up, I was originally going to paint it White Dove but once I rolled out the wallpaper I decided that it would be much more of a cottage farmhouse feel with a color in the wallpaper. That is just what we did. I took the wallpaper around the room above the board and batten once painted.

All of the elements and visions came together perfectly to create a farmhouse cottage bedroom that brings us joy and cozy feelings when we look in here. Just remember friends make your spaces bring you joy and always have them useful. The pretty will come along with that but, do not just do it for a pretty view, have the view that works for your family! Sharing all of the details below friends!
