Making your outdoor spaces cozy during the evening and night is a simple fix. When I recently revamped the back deck, I knew that I was going to need outdoor lighting to make this space pop! The spring vintage style lighting was something that I had always wanted to be apart of my back yard and I thought why not do it? I ordered my string lights and got started on this space!
When I started to figure out where I wanted to string the lights, I began to look to see what tree I could use. The reason I decided to use the trees because I wanted the lights to go across the backyard as well. I started with attach the lights under the roof of my overhang with a hook and then attached the other end to the tree. When attaching the end of the light string to the tree, I used a thick wire and wrapped it around a tree branch that was high enough to allow people to walk under the lights. Once the first strand was hung, I then went to another spot of the over hang on the house and started the second strand.
The second strand I went across the first one and attached it to the same tree but on the opposite side to create a v- shape. This strand was attach to the tree in the same way. Now for the third strand of lights, it was not as simple. There was not another tree on that side of the yard to attach the other end of the light strand. This is where I decided that I would have to get a 12 foot 4×4 to attach the lights too. I ran this third strand of lights from the opposite corner of the overhang on the house and under the other two strands of lights to the post in the back of the yard. Once I had the lights attached to the top of the 12 foot post in the yard, I
went back and used a zip tie to attach the third strand of lights tot he first strand to help hold it up higher.
The best part about these lights is that they are industrial strength waterproof lights. You can put these and leave them out as long as you like. They give your backward a cozy glow and lightning the is so relaxing with a simple plug in , since they all connect together. I hope this will help you create a cozy back yard lighting space. Thank you as always for stopping by the blog today and everyday, XOXO
