Spring time is finally here well, at least in our home it is. This week on the blog I did something a little different and I hope you all enjoyed the Spring Bedroom Check List Printable. Now that you have all the things to create a spring bedroom, I will share how I did the guest bedroom for spring.
The first step that I did was to take down the wall decor and winter florals. Once those were down I did decide to change the rug and bedding. I started the spring styling by putting down a new light color rug from Boutique Rugs. I wanted to add layers in here but always keep them lighter tones for the spring where they are a little more in depth for the winter.
As I got the rug down I gathered up my vintage pieces. The vintage mirror that I scored last week and started on the back. This wall is the one that is the main focus when you come into the room. I started with the vintage mirror in the center of the wall behind the bed. I originally wanted to do this mirror as the focal point and have unframed mirrors as a college around it. Although sometimes in life things do not happen. That does not mean that I am not still on the hunt for some for the eventually mirror wall.
After getting the mirror on the wall this is where I did a little more layering and added the spring greens. Night stands can be a little tricky sometimes when it comes to layering because you do not want to add too much but you still want it to be balanced. I chose to do another mirror with a simple vintage radio and a vase with some spring greens in it. This was a few more things checked off my spring bedroom check list.
The last space left to add decor was the dresser. Styling the dresser is a little less difficult because, there is the stay in place windows and the large vintage pickle jars. Since those are there I just pop in a few vintage pieces like the unframed mirror and a picture of my family’s old homestead . The final piece to this space was large faux spring stems in the pickle jars.
My last and final step of my spring bedroom check list is to make the bed. I love to layer bedding but, in the spring time you have to keep in mind to keep it light. Making the bed is where I grab lightweight textured linen and muslim throws because of them being breathable. I typically choose white and cream bedding to keep the space light and spring feeling. I layer the end of the bed with a muslim textured throw and then of course pillows and more pillows. No matter the season I always have lots of throw pillows. If you have been here for quite sometime you know I have a throw pillow problem. I finish the space off with a chunky basket at the end of the bed.
I hope seeing how I used the check list to complete a spring bedroom in our home, will help inspire you. We would love to see your spaces friends and thank you as always for stopping by the blog! XOXO
