Patriotic decor is a must around our home! Creating a simple DIY project to give that patriotic decor that extra element for texture. Creating this simple DIY with scrape wood around your home is the perfect way to layer a coffee table! This DIY is so simple and you can do it in about 20 mins friends! Create a distressed riser. Start by grabbing those scrape pieces of wood and they do not need to be in great shape! The distressed wood will really give it that worn look.

• Decide on the size of your riser.
• Cut all the boards to the same length.
• Take a small piece of wood and lay it across top and bottom of the back of the boards.

• Screw these pieces of wood to the long boards.
• Pick out paint.
• Put very little paint on the brush.

• Dry brush the boards.

• Let it dry!
