Do you ever think how am I suppose style when its not exactly winter anymore but, it is still not spring? During this time my favorite pieces of decor are houseplants, throws, and wood tones. I want to feel the home with cozy vibes and that to me is created when you have the pieces that make you feel right at home. I start by taking down all of the winter greens and getting everything all tidied up. Once I have a clean slate, the fun begins. I start by adding in my white tones mixed with the houseplants. One question that I am asked frequently asked is how do I decide where to put the houseplants.
When I walk into a room, I look to see where it looks dark in the room. Once I find that spot or spots, I put a houseplant or some greenery stems there to bring freshness to that spot! Now that the greenery is in place, I begin to put the wood tones in by layering them with pieces in the room. Layering is one of my favorite ways to make a room feel cozy. I love layer in mirrors or any chippy piece with wood tone pieces. Bringing in the wood tones into a space of all white just helps the space feel warm and cozy.
The last thing that I do is add my favorite chunky knit throw to bring that last warm cozy home feeling. When styling spaces in our home, these are the three steps I take to style between the seasons. Thank you always for stopping by the blog today for these short simple tips to help you get through this in between time, XOXO
