Summer time is here and if you are anything like me, you love making fun tablescapes for the season. This summer I wanted to keep things simple and use fruits and greens to create tablescapes that can be for inside or out. At the beginning of spring a lot of the stores where putting out the cutest glasses, plates, and chargers and boy am I glad I grabbed them up. Creating tablscapes have always been fun for me and I thought that I would share with you friends four different ways to style your tables for the summer.
This first tablescape is super simple and does not require many items at all. I will be the first to say I love chunky vintage jugs! They always make for fun styling. This tabbescape all I did was add a vintage water jug and two vintage pickle jars to the table with some greenery. Even tough there are only two elements to this tablescape, it still makes a statement and can go inside or out.
Now on to the next, what fruit screams summer to you? For myself it is peaches and trust me do I love them! I decided that this one I wanted to layer with some textures and linens to create a more soft feel. I took a basket woven charger, some plates that I picked up from the goodwill. That way they can go inside or out. One of the new Liz Marie tea towels, some hobnail glasses and me new favorite vases, weck jars. Did I mention that these adorable glasses are from Dollar General for only $1?
I only wanted to use one charger because I wanted it to still remain simple and not be a full tablescape with place settings one this one. I kept one of my vintage pickle jars and filled it with peach steams! Then I put some water in the weck jar and added in some greenery. Adding in the linen tea towel gave this setting a soft touch and made it more welcoming.
Sometimes you do want to create a full place setting tablescape and those are fun too. There comes fun challenge with one of my best friend while she was visiting last summer. We created a fun summer place setting that you could run down your outdoor table. Depending on what event you are styling for or just styling to have a welcoming view; you could change this and add more elements for that wow factor. I used my woven basket chargers, a plate, a blue buffalo plaid napkins, a vintage terra cotta pot, forks, vintage clear bottles, and even some vintage inspired bullseyes. This setting can be done for more one place and you can add in more glasses and even some more flowers. For the summer time I love using clear demijohns just as an added layer.
Lastly but, not least I decided to add a few more layers to my indoor summer tablescape. Small changes are great, but I did not want to takeaway my peach steams. They are so much fun for the summer. While adding in another summer fruit for one more layer to use in your tablescapes. This will be a small change but a huge pop of difference. I took this adorable orange tree that I picked up at Pottery Barn and layered it beside the jar of peach stems. Creating height is a must, I decided to use plates. Changing out the tea towel to a more neutral one; adding in some faux loose oranges on the plates. Simple changes will bring more summer time into my home.
I hope sharing these four easy tablescapes will help you create something fun for the summer time. If you do decide to create one of your own, please share them with my tagging me on Instagram and see more looks on Pinterest. Thank you as always for stopping by the blog! Remember styling is fun and it does not have to be complicated, it can be fun and simple.
