Monday has sure come fast this weekend! The past week our home has had some major changes for the best. One of the rooms that have finally found its final pieces, is our cozy guest bedroom. When you are trying to decide how to make your guest bedroom welcoming, I have found the best way to start is to find the focus. The point of focus I wanted to use to create the coziness in this room was the bed.
When I first started to style our guest bedroom, I knew that I wanted to use an antique wrought iron bed. The first photo you can see that I was able to find one but, the color was black. Once I got this into the bedroom, I felt that the black color did not make the room feel at home. This bed was left by a man for my dad to redo. Well he never came back for the bed. Antique beds are becoming more in demand which is making them hard to find.
After I received the bed back from being painted, I knew that I wanted to use a simple wrought iron bed. This one had detail inside the rails. My dad and I went to a local flea market one weekend about 2 months ago. On the
I turned to look at my dad and he knew that this was the bed that I was looking for. The man told us, that if we wanted the bed we could have it for ten bucks. I could not get the ten dollar bill out of my pocket fast enough. Once we were able to get the bed home, my dad started to prep the bed to remove the rust. Luckily my dad owns a business that their job is to remove rust from furniture, which was in my favor. After the prep, the bed went to the paint shop and now she is home.
The white bed made the guest bedroom have that cozy feeling that I want our guest to experience when they are in our home. I chose to keep the decor simple and just some touches of winter greens to keep that cozy vibe in the room. Do you have your guest bedroom styled like the rest of your house? I would love for you to share on this photo on our instagram. Thank you for stopping by the blog today!
