Finally Summer Time! Here in North Carolina we sure do love to sip some sweet tea in our outdoor spaces. I have teamed up with some amazing bloggers to share our summer outdoor spaces this year. Let me just say that they are amazing! You all know how much I had dreamed of a huge farmhouse front porch if you have been here for awhile, and how it was a much when purchasing a home once moving back to my hometown. This summer I styled the front porch as always but, I even styled the back porch since it just had a revamp. Come along and see how I spend my time in outdoor spaces during the summer months.
My front porch is my pride and joy I must say. I love the fact that it stretches across the whole front of my home and its the first site you see. Last summer I did not have the two porch swings or have this space just how I dreamed it would look. That all changed this year, I know have TWO porch swings!!! I decided to move my big porch swing to the other side of the porch and I am so glad that I did . By moving it was able to create a space that friends and family can come over and enjoy. Not to mention that it is the perfect morning coffee spot or even late night chats with your loved ones.
I added in one of my favorite benches from a friend of mine that always has amazing vintage finds. The bench makes the perfect coffee table for this space since it is lower to the ground. I never had a coffee table of a front porch before and I have to say it makes such a fun space to style. Then of course you all know that having cozy pillows are a must around my house. I layered both porch swings with cozy pillows. I wanted to make sure that I had many plants of the porch because to me the fresh greens give an at home cozy feel.
On the other side of the stairs to the porch I decided that I wanted to use my vintage metal furniture that my dad found one morning at a yard sale. This furniture brings me back to my grandparents old homestead and how we use to spend out summers sitting there eating popsicles. I love styling spaces with pieces that bring back the warm childhood memories. Since these pieces are green I stuck with neutral colored pillows for them. I mentioned before that I now have two porch swings. If you remember back to when I first created my office I had this blue rug from Hobby Lobby in there. Well friends, change is always good and it has made it’s way to my front porch. The chippy white painted swings from my aunt and uncles old home pairs so well with it and I knew it was a keeper. Do you love passed down family pieces as much as I do? They make the best for styling your home with happy memories. Finally in the corner I wanted to create a potting table. This was so I can have my strawberry plants and some other fun fresh greens. I layered this space with an old door, antique table, a vintage tulip crate, and a cute seed box from Antique Farmhouse. This little corner gives me so much joy.
Now the back porch was one working task this season but, it paid off! I used deck correct to give the old worn wood a facelift and then added in a fun outdoor rug along with some new wood textures. I do have a another fun DIY project coming to this space really soon but for now I am using the furniture that I had from last year and just added in some new elements. I decided to bring this cable spool out of my bedroom and decided to use it for a table out here on the back porch. Although I added in some new elements there was still something missing! This space needed some lights. Of course I had to use some pretty string lights and trust me it changed the whole look of this space. Now this space is ready for a fun night of laughs with family and friends!

Love your porch and I totally agree, seasonal cleaning can be a big job! I usually like doing it on the super hot days so it’s just me and the hose. LOL. Adore that egg sign too!
