Cozy is a huge word around our home especially during the winter season. Cozy can be inside or out. Creating a cozy winter porch is always a fun budget friendly space to style. The best part about the winter season is that you have many greens left over from Christmas and there are so many textures that come naturally with this season. How can you create a cozy winter porch with what you already have around your home?
Grab those Greens
After Christmas you have all of theses greens that you either store away if they are faux or just pull out of your home if they are real. Then you are stuck with what greens you can put out or where to purchase some faux ones. This is where you can reuse and save money. I grabbed up all of the greens and even some flocked ones that are just greens with pine cones. Snag up those greens and put them all together for a textured greenery look. Also you can keep a plain flocked tree out to create a winter forest.
Simple DIY
For the greens you will need some sorta of vessel. You can use vintage items like olive bucket or you can grab those spring planters and a can of paint. I always say an old piece can shine through with a fresh new coat of paint. This black planter was one of my gray ones that typically hold my spring and summer flowers. Instead of going to buy a new planter, I grabbed a can of black spray paint and gave this one a new look. I can always paint it back to a spring color this spring. Once dry fill your vessel full of those winter greens.
Pieces that scream Winter
This is my favorite part! There is no wrong piece or texture here. You can put your own spin onto the space. I grabbed a Buffalo plaid throw rug and a seasonal doormat. I love layered rugs they are fun to create. What says winter to me? A sled, chunky throws, Hunter boots, and a wreath. I layered these pieces together to create that cozy winter porch.
