Many times I get the question, when do you start styling your home for spring? I love to start bringing in fresh greens right after Valentine’s Days because for myself that is when I feel like the winter decor is okay to change. I know that many places are still having snow but, bringing in the fresh greenery is one way to warm up your home during the cold months. Since it is after Valentine’s Day, I am on the hunt for more greenery. When a season is starting to come to an end, I start getting restless about the next season. This is why I had to start gearing up for spring.
The first thing that I do to start getting the spring vibes into my home is to take down any winter greens that may be left and any holiday decor. Once all of that is down, I begin to layer with cozy wood tones and see what neutral and light color planters I have. I love putting faux spring stems around the house to mix with the houseplants that I will be bringing in. When you go to grab greenery, I tend to lean to the houseplants that way you can pick them up from the store all year round. One of my favorite things to do once the holidays are over is to bring in fresh clean white linens. This is what makes it feel more like spring in the home even though it can still be cold outside.
This time I decided to go with white, green glass, and clear glass vases or jugs to put those faux spring stems around the house. I started in master bedroom with a white comforter for the bedding and a white planter to put my favorite faux fig stems in. Adding these layers and textures in beside the wood tones, created that warm vibe that spring brings.
Now on to the dining room for a very simple but cozy tablescape. This is the first space that anyone will see when they walk into our home and I want it to be warm. I chose to go with just two jugs and a tinted green vase, that way the green would bring that spring color in slowly. I would love to have all the spring in here but I wanted bring the season in slowly. Bringing in a few jugs and some faux stems is a simple way to bring a statement change to a space. I finished this space off with a fresh houseplant and a cozy candle on the china hutch.
Finally, I went to the guest bedroom that I just recently just did the DIY Shiplap to, that you can read about {HERE} and added just a touch of some spring fig stems for greenery in this room. This simple touch really brings a fresh spring feeling to this newly layered room.
Bringing spring into your home right now is not something that you have to rush into. I hope sharing the way that I bring spring into my home slowly will help inspire you when you want to style your home for the upcoming spring season. I am so excited for the warm weather and to bring out some peaches. Thank you as always for stopping by the blog today, XOXO
